Earlier this month, the Blue Oval announced an update to FordPass – the automaker’s connected car-app – which will be a more robust loyalty program to Ford customers. With the revised program, owners can now accumulate points that can be used towards complimentary maintenance, parts, service or a new vehicle at participating dealerships.
Officially launched on May 2, 2019, the program already has one million active members. According to CNET, anyone who bought a new Ford vehicle since April 2 automatically received 42,000 points in their FordPass Rewards account. Those initial points are usually enough to pay for a vehicle’s first three service appointments.
Loyalty program members can also earn five percent back, in the form of points, on the purchase of Ford-branded parts, such as Motorcraft, as well as on the parts and labor cost of any services performed at Ford dealers. Those accumulated points can be banked to save for major services or used at any time. As time goes on, the Blue Oval may expand its earning and redemption offerings, which is more good news for consumers.
