Our Lineup Of Used Focus Seattle
Great things do indeed come in small packages. The Ford Focus - a powerhouse performer defined by sedan sensibilities and rally fun - rose beyond its humble origins to become one of the world’s top-selling vehicles.
In 1998 the Focus arrived in Europe with little fanfare. Ford’s sales were waning (both at home and overseas) and driver interest was split between the advertising blitzes of Toyota, GM and BMW. The addition of a compact to the market, critics argued, would do nothing to solve these problems.
They were wrong.
The Focus - with its sporty lines, rear-link suspension and aerodynamic precision - proved immediately popular, generating high sales and higher acclaim. The vehicle (which offered 3-door, 4-door and 5-door styling) effortlessly adapted to the needs of both families and professionals, and its FF-layout allowed it to power through even the sharpest European roads.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that Ford soon sailed the Focus across the Atlantic. It became a staple of North American dealerships and garages alike, and it’s since inspired three generations of hatchback fun.
The Compact Blade: a kinematic-based form of suspension, delivering more precise control than traditional twist beams.
The FlexFuel Engine: a platform that accepted both gasoline and ethanol, allowing for more efficient economy.
The Ballard 902 Fuel Cell: a hydrogen-powered engine that eliminated carbon emissions.
Through these and other features the Ford Focus has risen to the top of the charts.
Blending peerless engineering with undeniable style, the Ford Focus has earned many awards since its first arrived. These include:
European Car of the Year: 1999 Car and Driver Ten Best List: 2001 Automobile Magazine's Best Small Car: 2002 AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle: 2006 Consumer Guide’s Recommended Buy: 2007
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Pick: 2012
Most Innovative Brand: 2015
The years have been kind to the Focus - and driver reactions have been kinder. This hatchback delivers power, performance and economy; and none can deny the influence it’s had on the compact market. Each generation proves better than the last.
