Reality never exceeds expectations - but the 2018 Fiesta ST is the exception to the rule, connecting drivers to turbocharged performance and front-wheel precision. This hot hatch was met to great acclaim in Europe upon its release, leaving the competition crushed beneath its 17-inch wheels; and critics anticipated that its reign would soon spread across the pond, with strong sales predicted for Canada and the USA.

Those predictions were proven false…. because the new ST won’t be crossing the Atlantic at all.

According to Torque Report, Ford is ceasing Fiesta production in North America - citing sluggish sales and miniscule profit margins. Despite this platform’s powerhouse performance overseas (drivers have embraced its 1.6L inline-four engine, delighting in 197 HP and 202 lb.-ft of torque), it’s struggled to find a place among the local market. Perpetually overshadowed by crossovers and sports sedans, the ST has never been able to top the charts.

Bringing the 2018 platform to Seattle, therefore, would be an exercise in folly - with Leo Rocks, Ford’s Performance Director, noting in an interview with Torque Report: “It doesn’t make sense, nor is it possible financially speaking, to import a single trim level, and a niche one at that.” While the Fiesta’s 0 to 60 blitz of seven seconds has made it a favorite in Europe, it doesn’t have the power needed to secure a North American launch.

There’s no shame in crying, ST fans. We’ve been hoarding tissues all morning.

The 2018 Fiesta will continue to shine overseas - earning circuit victories with its top speed ratio of 143 MPH - and the Sound Ford team will have to content ourselves with watching this hot hatch on a screen.

Share your thoughts about this production shake-up with us today.

Embrace the hot hatch philosophy in Seattle - with Ford introducing drivers to turbocharged performance. The 2017 Fiesta ST now prowls the downtown streets.

US News reports that Ford has (finally) unveiled its latest ST. This platform promises rally fun, with its 1.6L four-cylinder engine yielding 197 HP and 202 lb.-ft of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission creates seamless responses, while three-stage traction control allows for precise cornering. Drivers can push the chassis to the limits, relying on vented disc brakes and a sport-tuned suspension to accommodate every mile. This is a true sub-compact powerhouse.

With that power comes surprising economy. Ford recognizes the need for efficiency, fusing its 2017 Fiesta ST with direct-injection technology. This ensures strong MPG capabilities (26 in the city and 33 on the highway) and allows this model to easily transition from the track to the suburbs.

Through this, US News explains that the new Fiesta proves a strong contender within the hatchback market - surpassing the far more expensive Volkswagen Golf R and Mini Cooper Works. Prepare for everyday performance and undeniable thrills.

Graduation season is underway, which means that parents across the nation are flocking to dealerships for the quintessential celebratory gift: a brand new car. If you're looking for the perfect one for your minted graduate, consider one of the sporty coupes from Ford's lineup; according to New Vehicle Customer Study data from MaritzCX, the Blue Oval's niche attracts younger customers overall.

The Fiesta ST, in particular, is popular with the millennial bunch. Although the average age of new buyers hovers around 45 years, the hatchback entices a crowd roughly ten years its junior. Similar patterns emerge with the Focus/Focus RS and Fusion/Fusion Sport, respectively. Watch more below!

As a result, sales of sports cars have climbed by 45 percent in the first three months of 2017 alone. Given the nationwide surge of SUV and crossover purchases, this skew towards hot hatchbacks is out of the ordinary - but the Blue Oval has no complaints.

“...Capturing younger buyers while they still have many vehicle purchases remaining in their lives is good for business,” Corey Holter, Ford's car group marketing manager, said of the growing trend.

Also worth noting? Millennial drivers aren't strapped for cash. For example, the average household income for a Fiesta buyer is $59,000, but for the ST model, the HHI leaps to $102,000.

2018 Ford Fiesta for sale seattle washingtonTrying to make friends with your wallet? There's no reason to limit your car search to the 'used' section. Depending on which vehicle you invest in, it may save you big bucks year-over-year. Or, on the flip side, you may hold onto more cash initially, but find yourself handing it over for multiple repairs down the line.

But thanks to the good book - Kelley Blue Book, to be precise - prospective buyers don't need to do the heavy lifting to figure out which cars are solid long-term buys. After digging through their records, the team at AutoGuide.com recently compile a list of Top 10 Cheapest Cars to Own Over 5 Years: 2017. A short scroll through the web page rewards readers with a feature on the all-new Ford Fiesta ST, a sporty hatch that packs a lot of power into a compact frame.

"
The Ford Fiesta ST is one hot hatch, offering a fun-to-drive experience in a compact package. It’s also the cheapest Sporty Compact Car to own according to Kelley Blue Book, with a 5-Year Cost to Own of $35,433," AutoGuide's article states. Rest assured that the low numbers don't translate to low quality, though - CarandDriver.com currently ranks the ST at a 4.5 out of possible 5 stars.

The recent 2017 Geneva Motor Show was a feast for the eyes, featuring a dazzling array of show-stopping vehicles. Autoguide.com's team was on the scene and, after assessing the new cars out on display, published their Top 10 Best Debuts at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show list. Second on the list was none other than the new Ford Fiesta ST, staking its rightful claim alongside the Audi RS 5, Lamborghini Huracan Performante and other luxury vehicles.

Thanks to its strong performance numbers and affordable price tag, the ST is the best of both worlds. As AutoGuide's writer noted, "Not everyone can afford an Audi, and for those people, the new Ford Fiesta ST debuted. It features a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder that delivers 200 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. We can’t wait to drive this one." Check out the ST's mention in AutoGuide's video below:

And with good reason: although the turbo motor is actually downsized from its predecessor's, the Blue Oval promises more torque and power with the ST. As stated on AutoExpress.co, there are also rumors that the ST can go from 0-62 mph in a mere 6.7 seconds, comparable to the limited ST200 model.

2018 Ford Fiesta ST seattle washingtonThe all-new model of the Ford Fiesta ST is about to turn up the heat. Featuring a brand new engine, the next-generation model is taking the mobile party to the next level.

According to Autoguide.com, the engine in question is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder, boasting roughly 200 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. It takes the place of the previous engine, a 1.6L, four-cylinder motor; although the new engine is smaller, it makes up for its lack in size with output.

With the new engine, the 2018 Fiesta ST marks the first time a Ford performance car has used a three-cylinder motor. One extra perk? Its cylinder deactivation feature is able to shut down one of the cylinders under light loads. Additionally, it can propel the vehicle to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds.

Drivers will also benefit three driving modes with the new hatch; the feature makes its debut with the Fiesta ST. The modes - Normal, Sport and Track - enable drivers to alter engine response, stability control, exhaust sound and more.

2017 Ford Fiesta ST seattle washingtonThe party's just getting started for the 2017 Ford Fiesta ST. The sleek hatchback recently earned a Kelley Blue Book 2017 5-Year Cost to Own Award for sporty compact cars, which was attributable to features such as its low costs for maintenance and a low Kelley Blue Book® Fair Purchase Price. The title was awarded after KBB assessed factors such as depreciation, state fees and more.

But while its maintenance expenditures and Purchase Price are low, the Fiesta ST also shines with its high EPA rating. With a 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined EPA score, the vehicle was predisposed to steal the spotlight for those numbers alone. Additionally, the Fiesta ST's six-speed manual transmission and 1.6-liter, 16-valve turbocharged EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine (with direct injection) propel it towards success.

Given its capacity to excel on the streets, many would argue that KBB's award for the Fiesta ST is one of many that the vehicle will take home this year. Learn more about the Fiesta ST at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington today!

The holidays are coming early for aficionados of Ford Motor Company. On Tuesday, the automaker will get the party started - literally - with a grand reveal of its new Ford Fiesta. The unveiling will take place at one of Ford's exclusive "Go Further" events, which will be held in Cologne, Germany.

Ford's president and CEO Mark Fields, as well as Jim Farley, the Executive Vice President and President of Ford of Europe, will bear the honor of announcing the Fiesta's debut to the public at the event. In a released statement, Farley said, “The new Fiesta will be our best expression of Ford — lovable fun, sporty to drive and with an unmatched personality true to the spirit of the iconic small car that has delighted generations of customers for the past 40 years." Join the party and watch the Fiesta on-the-go in the video below:

The celebration will also serve as a platform to announce the Blue Oval's details on its "Smart Mobility strategy, fuel-saving technology news, and new commercial vehicles," according to reports from Ford. In efforts to ensure that the news is accessible to all, the event will be live-streamed through Ford Europe's YouTube channel beginning at 2pm on Tuesday. Auto enthusiasts are prepared to walk away from the event with exciting news to pass along - in recent years, Ford has used its "Go Further" events specifically to share new company strategies and unveil new vehicles. However, for this particular event, Ford did not release any details regarding production plans for the Fiesta.

For this latest "Go Further" event, it will appropriately take place at the company's W-Halle inside the Niehl, Cologne manufacturing facility that is one of the current Fiesta's assembly plants. The facility is anticipated to host roughly 2,500 employees, media and dealers at the upcoming event.

Our experts at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington are prepared to answer any questions you may have about the Fiesta or other vehicles in our lot, so don't hesitate to stop by today.
This year's SEMA event in Las Vegas, Nevada features a lineup of 50 customized Ford vehicles. Ford revealed the modified Fusions, F-150s and Mustangs queued up for the event earlier in October, but recently disclosed that a customized Fiesta and five Focus hatchbacks are taking the stage as well. This leaves Ford's crossovers and SUVs as the final vehicles to be announced for the event.

Joining the elite SEMA club is the Fiesta ST, which was built by Tucci Hot Rods. The SEMA-ready Fiesta sports a custom wide-body kit, as well as an updated clutch with a Spec Stage 4 kit. Although the Fiesta's 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine doesn't have any tweaks, the body is lowered and it shows off a custom exhaust system and a Cobb Accessport V3 ECU upgrade. Check out the Fiesta in action in the video below:

The five Focus models on display are notable more so for their aesthetic upgrades. The customized 2016 Focus ST by Blood & Grease has a dramatic matte paint job, but still shines at the show; the 2016 Focus ST is turning heads with performance upgrades provided by Mountune. While the 2016 Focus RS by H&P Special Springs/Stanceworks sports rally-inspired imagery, the 2016 Focus RS by Full-Race Motorsports has an orange and gray paint job. Rounding out the group is the Focus RS from Roush Performance, which is customized with a new body kit that gives the vehicle an air of malevolence.

Even though SEMA isn't open to the general public, the models that are in the spotlight are also available to view and test drive at Sound Ford Washington. Stop by and take a look today!
