The 2020 Ford Bronco may have unique removable doors. A new patent filed by Ford with the United States Patent and Trademark Office has led to speculation that the 2020 Ford Bronco will have removable doors with a separate center impact beam. This would mean you could remove the door completely or leave the impact beam in place, making door-less driving a little safer. The doors can be stored in the trunk.
There’s more speculation that the 2020 Bronco will come in both two- and four-door versions, although the patent filed shows only removable front doors. The Bronco and the 2019 Ford Ranger XL will share a platform.
Ford ended production on the Bronco in 1996 but announced in 2017 it was going to start making the popular 4x4 available again. It looks like 2020 is the year. The new Bronco will apparently have a retro design with round headlights and might have a removable hardtop too. Mounting side view mirrors to the A-pillars rather than to the doors means you won’t be driving without mirrors if you decide to take the doors off.

Since joining the company in May 2017, former Steelcase exec Jim Hackett’s mandate has been to push Ford employees to answer the question, “Do we have the score right?” In October 2017 Hackett described it as a “fitness push.”
Details of the Ford workout include:
Getting out of Brazil’s heavy truck segment and closing an underperforming Brazilian factory
A truck and van agreement with VW, although the only news on this venture is that the teams are working well and the VW/Ford $4 billion autonomous auto deal still doesn’t have any numbers attached to it
Closing down two Russian manufacturing facilities
An internal memo fell into the hands of The Detroit News recently. In it, Hackett said 2019 was the year Ford would turn “the corner toward a really bright future.” He also reminded employees that Ford’s been around for 115 years and survived more than one recession. But he also said that by 2021, 75% of Ford’s lineup will be new, including a new Bronco, another smaller off-roader, and an electric performance utility vehicle. In case you missed it (ICYMI), Ford’s making a lot of changes in 2020. Around this time last year, Ford announced a whole host of changes to its lineup at an automotive press event in Dearborn, MI. Topics discussed included the future of mobility, challenges facing automakers, and new products.
Here are some of the highlights:
Hybrid powertrains for both the Explorer and the Escape
The return of the Ford Bronco with a square silhouette, pronounced wheel arches, and a rear-hatch mounted spare. Take that, Jeep Wrangler!
A new, still nameless off-roading utility model that looks like a 4x4 and might use the Escape’s platform.
A growing SUV lineup, with at least one new Lincoln luxury model
Simplification with fewer platforms—five in total: front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, commercial vans, a scaled chassis platform for trucks, and a specific electric vehicle platform. What this means: more models, less mechanical redesign.
Beat Toyota at its hybrid and all-electric game by 2021 with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric versions of the Ford Mustang and the Ford F-150.
Standardization of the Ford Co-Pilot360. Introduced in fall 2018 for the Ford Edge and at the beginning of 2019 for the Ford Ranger, the Ford Co-Pilot360’s five safety features, including automatic braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot detection, lane keep assist, backup camera and automatic headlights, will be standard on all Ford vehicles by 2020.

In a promotional campaign for the Ranger Raptor, Ford shows the machine pulling 20 caravans in a short video. The pickup tows a 44,092-pound and 328-feet convoy of trailers in the UK in order to demonstrate the range-topping 2.0-liter EcoBlue twin-turbo diesel truck’s abilities. The vehicle won't be on sale until the second half of this year and only in Europe, but rumor has it that the company is considering releasing it in the United States but hasn’t decided yet. Have you heard the news? Ford has announced that it will be adding overtime shifts at its Michigan Assembly Plant next week to meet the consumer’s demand for the new Ranger - this comes shortly after the factory had to be shut down due to extreme cold temperatures.

Have you heard the news? The Speciality Equipment Market Association has released the 2019 Ford Ranger's computer-aided design and 3D scan data. This means that the automotive aftermarket (which is responsible for the manufacturing, remanufacturing, distribution, and installation of all vehicle parts and accessories after the sale by the original producer) can begin to create the various custom apparatus'. The useful information can be accessed through SEMA’s Tech Transfer program. Initially, the only material attainable at this time will be the 4×4 and 4×2 suspension, brakes, exhaust, frame, engine, air intake, front and back fascias, and the cargo bed.
For those of us not in the business, we can get our hands on an actual Ranger XLT. It’s a mid-size pickup that’s a cut above the rest - literally and figuratively. The truck sits tall and mighty with a wheelbase of 126.8 inches and all-season 17-inch tires. Further, it also comes standard with such perks as privacy glass and a rear defogger. Have you heard the news? The 2019 Ford Ranger XLT isn’t just tough - it’s undergone rigorous tests like never before to earn the label as the strongest vehicle on the market.

There’s a lot of talk about the new 2019 Ford Ranger, but have you heard about the detailed taillights? The results are in: the 2019 Ford Ranger is the most fuel-efficient midsize pickup (that isn’t an EV) in the United States. Tests were conducted by the EPA, who gave it an estimated gas economy of 23 mpg combined (21 city/26 highway) for 4×2 trucks. The other factor that makes this vehicle a first-class industry leader is the standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. It cranks out 280 HP at 5,600 revs per minute and produces 310 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm (the best within its category!)
Of course, those numbers mean nothing if this beauty doesn’t have some cool technology to back it up; fortunately, it does. The magnificent machine has the option of a Tech Pack, which adds many nifty tools designed to assist you.
