The slogan that drives Ford Motor Company is "Go Further", but based on its latest patent, it could also be "GoPro." The automaker recently filed a patent for a new GoPro camera mount that is able to rotate cameras, obtain car information and more. The technology serves to simplify the process of recording driving footage for car enthusiasts who want to take their driving experiences behind the lens.
As stated on the patent, the device has the potential to be mounted in various ways and locations, such as one's windshield or dashboard. It also is compatible with multiple cameras, expanding the limits of recording.
Another benefit of the mount is that its control may be relinquished to a passenger in the car, which could be helpful for filming another car in motion. It goes without saying that the mount would be especially handy for racers, who would reap the dazzling benefits of the camera footage as they speed around the track.

Ford's engineers and designers always have the consumer's needs and wishes top-of-mind. So when requests for increased fuel efficiency and enhanced performance came to the forefront, the automaker took matters into its own hands. The result? An all-new, aerodynamic testing complex, which will act as the hub for a rolling road wind tunnel and climatic chamber. The space, which will begin taking shape later this year, will also feature updated testing advancements that better match Ford's production and racing vehicles.
All of the complex's innovations ultimately will yield data and technology that are up to snuff with the automobile industry's evolution. The new wind tunnel, in particular, will make advancements for vehicle design easier to conduct and truer to real-life conditions. Using strategically placed belts on a conveyor system and a crane (to put it in layman's terms), the Blue Oval will essentially bring the streets to the vehicle.
Stay tuned to learn even more about Ford's testing complex, and visit us at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington today.
Ford's all-new aerodynamic complex, which begins construction later this year, is sure to impress tech buffs and engineers alike with its wind tunnel complex. The Blue Oval's new innovation will generate complete simulations of environmental airflow that have the capacity to reach 200 miles per hour.
Given its impressive components, it goes without saying that the wind tunnel complex will bolster aerodynamic shielding tests, high-speed performance and more. Aside from its high wind speeds, the complex's climatic chamber can also reach temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 140 - conditions that parallel the Arctic and the Sahara, respectively! Taking larger vehicles like Super Duty trucks into account, the complex will also include "super-sized" wind tunnel chambers.

A lot can happen in a decade. But Ford's President and CEO, Mark Fields, has a single, defining prediction for the next ten years that is shaping the direction of the Blue Oval.
"The next decade will be defined by the automation of the automobile, and autonomous vehicles will have as significant an impact on society as Ford's moving assembly line did 100 years ago," Fields recently said. Whereas electric cars were a defining innovation of the beginning of the 21st century, Fields believes that autonomous vehicles are not far from becoming an integrated, normalized reality. View more in the video below!
Aligning with Fields' prediction, Ford announced on February 10 that it is investing $1 billion over the next five years in artificial intelligence company Argo AI. The investment will fund Argo AI's development of a virtual driver system to complement Ford's SAE level 4 autonomous vehicles, which are scheduled to hit the streets in 2021.

Smart. High-tech. Adaptive. Boasting all three features and many more, it's no wonder that the 2017 Ford Fusion recently snagged the 2017 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Award for Best Family Sedan. MotorWeek takes its annual assessment of cars, trucks and SUVs seriously with the consumer's point of view in mind, so the Fusion's recognition is significant.
The first of its kind to hit the States, the new Fusion offers adaptive cruise control, complemented with stop-and-go functionality and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. Looking for more? No need to - the aforementioned technologies are only three among a suite of 20 that are available for the Fusion, ranging from the Fusion Sport models to the Hybrid and Energi models. The Sport, in particular, shines with its 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost® engine and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

The party's just getting started for the 2017 Ford Fiesta ST. The sleek hatchback recently earned a Kelley Blue Book 2017 5-Year Cost to Own Award for sporty compact cars, which was attributable to features such as its low costs for maintenance and a low Kelley Blue Book® Fair Purchase Price. The title was awarded after KBB assessed factors such as depreciation, state fees and more.
But while its maintenance expenditures and Purchase Price are low, the Fiesta ST also shines with its high EPA rating. With a 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined EPA score, the vehicle was predisposed to steal the spotlight for those numbers alone. Additionally, the Fiesta ST's six-speed manual transmission and 1.6-liter, 16-valve turbocharged EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine (with direct injection) propel it towards success.
Given its capacity to excel on the streets, many would argue that KBB's award for the Fiesta ST is one of many that the vehicle will take home this year. Learn more about the Fiesta ST at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington today!
Replicating the comfort of your living room in a vehicle is a tall order, but Ford's all-new Expedition gets pretty darn close. The new SUV, which rolls out at dealerships this fall, is sure to delight drivers the moment they open its doors. With its spacious interior and ability to seat up to eight passengers, the Expedition is a no-brainer for both families and adventure seekers.
With the new Expedition, a trip of any length doesn't have to result in cramped legs and imposed personal space. The vehicle is the first full-size utility to incorporate a sliding seat in the second row, one that also has tip-and-slide functionality. The new feature may go unnoticed at first sight, but it makes a difference in the long run. Passengers trying to reach the third row won't have to deal with removing a child safety seat first, and every row will be able to enjoy greater legroom and reclining seats.
Don't have a lot of passengers, but have a lot of gear? The Expedition accounts for that as well. It only takes a push of a button to quickly fold down both the second- and third-row seats, creating a wider cargo berth that can accommodate 4x8-foot sheets of plywood, large equipment and more - without having to open the liftgate.
The Expedition’s all-new Terrain Management System™ also ups its adaptability factor, giving buyers greater versatility of drive modes - such as sport, tow/haul, mud/rut and more - to make any terrain or environmental condition a breeze to drive through.
Our team at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington can provide additional information on the all-new Expedition. Cruise through and test-drive our SUVs available today!
The Lone Star state isn't so lonely anymore, thanks to the debut of the all-new Ford Expedition. The SUV is being unveiled at Ford Center at The Star in Texas with the help of the Dallas Cowboys' chief operating officer and executive vice president, Stephen Jones, who is introducing the stellar vehicle to the public.
Jones and the Cowboys aren't strangers to the Blue Oval; the two entities came together last fall to revamp Station 43 for a crew of unexpected firefighters in Dallas. On the horizon is another surprise orchestrated by the Cowboys and Ford, which involves gifting the new Expedition to a local first responder. With that in mind, it makes sense for the Cowboys to bear the honor of debuting the brand-new SUV. Watch more in the vehicle below:
Ford enthusiasts, adventurers and big families are sure to take a liking to the new Expedition, which is offered in XLT, Limited and Platinum series. For fleet customers ranging from emergency services to law enforcement, an XL version will also be available. Regardless of which series catches your eye, all have plenty of interior room and can be amended to the extended-length Expedition MAX.
As Ford expands on its plans to broaden its SUV leadership within the next four years, the new Expedition fits perfectly into the trajectory. It's one of five new vehicles slated to come out in North America over the time frame and will be available for buyers this fall. Learn more at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington!
