Handing Ford Performance its fifth Daytona 500 win in the past nine years, Kurt Busch passed Kyle Larson to claim first prize in the acclaimed race's 59th event at Daytona International Speedway on February 26. The win also marks Ford Performance's fifteenth win overall.
“What a great win to start off a partnership. It is so great with Stewart-Haas and to have Kurt win it, our last Ford champion and in his first race back with Ford is fantastic,” said Raj Nair, Ford's executive vice president of global product development and chief technical officer, said in a Ford press release.
Seventeen years after his Daytona debut in 2000, the win was Busch's 15th with Ford.
"All the hard work that Ford and SHR put into this -- this Ford Fusion is in Daytona’s victory lane,” he said.
