The present and the past will soon collide in Seattle. In 1967 Ford introduced drivers to the Mustang Shelby Super Snake - a GT500 platform that crushed every mile, with its 427 FE powertrain delivering a then-staggering 170 MPH. Fifty years have passed since this fastback ruled the circuit.
Now it’s time for a new era of performance.
According to The Drive, Ford will soon premier its 2017 Shelby Super Snake - a pony-powerhouse that will shake the highway. Prepare for class-shattering capability, with a supercharged V8 engine yielding up to 750 HP. A coil-over suspension will pair spindle controls with fully-adjustable links, creating a fluid chassis; while 16-inch frontal rotors will promise precise stoppage on every terrain.
To the further delight of Seattle speed-fans, the new Super Snake will also boast an elongated frame - with 4-inches added to the rear track. This will create a profile that is both aggressive and aerodynamic, with the arched wheel-wells more efficiently diverting air. This will reduce resistance and allow the platform to sail from 0 to 60 in a mere 3.5 seconds.
Prepare for the next-generation of exhilaration.
