Mark your calendars, Seattle drivers! A new Ford Bronco is on the way - promising all-terrain power and timeless style.
In 1996 the Bronco met a swift (and all too undignified) end. Ford ceased production of this off-roader, citing dwindling sales and a new brand focus. The Explorer, Escape, and Edge would reign supreme at the Big Blue Oval; and there was simply no room left on the assembly line.
The reaction was both immediate and despairing. Throughout North America drivers sobbed in frustration. This platform had been woven into the cross-country tapestry for more than 30 years. Now it was... gone.
Rejoice, Seattle adventurers! TechMalak has just announced that a new SUV will soon arrive. In 2020 Ford will re-introduce its beloved Bronco to the public - once again defining the all-terrain market.
Though this model is shrouded in secrecy - with no official specs due for (at least) another year - critics have already begun to speculate what the 2020 Bronco will offer. Most anticipate a square body-on-frame design, rivaling the Jeep Compass or Toyota Cruiser. Removable doors would harken back to the original 1966 platform, while an optional soft-top roof would provide an all-weather value; and a 5.0L V8 Coyote motor would prove an ideal addition to the powertrain.
None of these rumors can be confirmed - but we certainly have our fingers crossed that they’ll all come true.
