A new era of performance will soon begin in Seattle - with Ford redefining off-road capabilities and enhancing power with every mile. The 2018 F-150 is coming... and it’s bringing sport-tuned engines with it.
According to The Drive, Ford will soon conquer both the roads and the sales charts - with its 2018 F-150 promising a suite of new engines. While still anchored by a 3.5L V6, it will allow consumers to select powertrains that reflect their specific trailering demands, ensuring improved performance with every load. Choose: a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 (325 HP, 400 lb.-ft of torque); a 5.0L V8 (395 HP, 400 lb.-ft of torque); a 3.3L Naturally Aspirated V6 (290 HP, 265 lb.-ft of torque); or a 3.0L Diesel V6 (estimated 240 HP, estimated 420 lb.-ft of torque). Each of these options will be fused with a 10-speed automatic transmission and direct-injection capability.
This, The Drive explains, will enable F-Series fans to accommodate even the heaviest of hauls - with the 2018 F-150 believed to offer more than 12,000 pounds of trailering. There will be no challenge it can’t conquer.
The 2018 F-150 should arrive in Seattle by the early fall. To learn more about this platform - including specs or pricing - contact Sound Ford Renton today.
