It’s a constant evolution - with every year revealing a new engine, a redefined chassis. Each automotive brand tries to inspire interest through a series of upgrades, options, and aftermarket add-ons. Change is deemed essential.

The 2019 Ford F-450, however, seems to follow a different path.

According to Four Wheeler, the new F-450 will remain almost entirely unchanged - maintaining both its 2017 fascia and powertrain. While consumers may find this surprising, critics are quick to note that the current version of this pick-up delivers segment-leading performance, easily besting its competitors (the Dodge Ram and the Toyota Tundra). Why, therefore, would Ford try to improve perfection?

We agree. The 2019 F-450 will continue a tradition of PowerStroke capability, boasting a 6.7L diesel V8 (performance ratios should exceed 440 HP and 925 lb.-ft of torque). A six-speed automatic transmission will also pair with available all-wheel-drive, providing class-shattering towing:

Conventional Trailering: Estimated 21,000 Pounds.
Fifth Wheel Trailering: Estimated 27,500 Pounds.
Gooseneck Trailering: Estimated 32,500 Pounds.
Payloads: Estimated 7,630 Pounds.

These numbers showcase why Ford is embracing the designs of the past - allowing the 2019 F-450 to follow in the tire-tracks of its predecessors. This platform needs no improvement.
