There are plenty of reports and indexes available that assign cars various scores in relation to price, fuel efficiency, environmental friendliness and more. But sometimes, a score for something more abstract is necessary. Enter Strategic Vision, which recently released its Customer Love Index for 2016. Picking up on consumers' underlying desire - to purchase or lease a vehicle they simply love, specs and prices aside - Strategic Vision compiled an end-of-year list suited for consumers caught in the throes of their next buying decision.
Since quantifying love is no easy feat, Strategic Vision analyzes five measurements to determine its rankings: Total Quality Impact, Total Value Index, Vehicle Emotional Delivery, Overall Feelings and Advocacy. As stated by Jason Siu on AutoGuide.com, "It compiles data from over 120 different aspects of the ownership experience on a scale that ranges from 1 (I Hate It) to 7 (I Love It) with 4 (Satisfactory) at the middle of the scale." With total scores of 485 and 517, respectively, the Ford C-Max Energi and the droptop Ford Mustang placed on the list in their respective categories.
The Ford C-Max Energi took the title for the Small Alternative Powertrain Car. With its 2.0L Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Hybrid Engine and Electronic Continuously Variable (e-CVT), as well as a five-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty, its accolade was no surprise. Catch the Energi in the video below:
As for the Ford Mustang, its status as a beloved and timeless sports car arguably helped seal its position amongst the other award winners. But Ford's engineers don't sacrifice efficiency for tradition - with upgraded features such as a 6-Speed SelectShift® Automatic transmission with paddle shifters - which allow drivers to override automatic operation and experience the feel of a manual, while maintaining control over gear selection - newer models of the stallion are equipped for modern driving in style.
