Coming in at nothing less than number one, the 2016 Ford F-150 truck was recently given top billing on Autoblog.com's list of Best-Selling Vehicles of 2016.
Autoblog.com's description of the truck didn't beat around the bush and was quick to give praise where it was due, stating that:
"This won't come as a surprise. The Ford F-Series lineup, which includes the F-150 and its brawnier Super Duty siblings, is still the best-selling vehicle in America, and by a comfortable margin of more than 200,000 units over the second-place finisher."
The second-place contender, Chevy's Silverado, ultimately couldn't hold a candle to the F-150.
Considering that the F-Series has been the best-selling brand of trucks for nearly 40 years, as stated on Ford's website, this latest accolade is both well-deserved and, in some ways, nothing new. This year's F-150 underwent 10 million miles of testing to guarantee that it was capable of taking the reputable name to the next level; its high-strength, aluminum-alloy body coupled with a high-strength steel frame made it stand out as dually lightweight and strong. Although it didn't have anything to prove - its name alone provides esteem - the Blue Oval's engineers worked to give the F-150 a 12,220-lb max tow rating and a 3,270-lb payload as well, making the truck shine even brighter.

The impressive features don't stop there. With the highest gas mileage of any full-size truck in its class - an EPA-estimated rating of 19/city/26 highway/22 combined mpg - and the only NHTSA 5-star safety rating awarded to any pickup truck - the F-150 steals the spotlight with ease.
