Beating out a slew of other contenders - including its larger sibling, the brand new F-Series Super Duty - the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor recently took home top prize from Cars.com, which named it its Best Pickup Truck of 2017.
In some ways, one might argue that the Super Duty was cheated out of the award. After all, the Super Duty is the Raptor's predecessor; the latter truck generated momentum off of the success of the former. But its additions and upgrades to what was already working well, ultimately, gave the Raptor the edge. The truck goes to the next level with its all-new technology features and performance gains, which are highlighted by a military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and a top-of-class 10-speed transmission. The alloy body gives it speed, while the transmission gives it power. Distinguishable BFGoodrich tires and updated Fox Racing shocks help set the Raptor apart even more from its truck counterparts.
Although the Super Duty was overshadowed, it is not to be outdone. The truck titan is a paragon in its own right, with an array of best-in-class claims that include most payload, torque and towing capability; it also has 20 notable features exclusive to its class, making it the most notable Super Duty to date.
Luckily for Ford truck enthusiasts, both the F-150 Raptor and the F-Series Super Duty are available to test-drive at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington. Take a pick - and take a spin - in both trucks today.
