Landing the #5 spot among Wagons in the United States, the 2015 Ford C-Max Energi SEL has broken through the barrier that separated conventional gasoline vehicles and eco-friendly ones. As a plug-in hybrid model, this hatchback is part of the wave into the future.
A 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack feeds the electric motor, which is coupled with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Working together, they all send 188 horsepower to the front wheels. The best part about the C-Max Energi is that it can travel for up to 19 miles after running completely out of fuel. It also only takes 2.5 hours to fully recharge using a 240-volt outlet. Experts at Edmunds discovered that it can even accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 7.8 seconds.
The SEL trim level is the only available version. Rolling on 17-inch alloy wheels, it comes with automatic windshield wipers and foglamps. The cabin boasts heated, leather seats for comfort in the winter months. Bluetooth phone/audio connectivity enables hands-free calling and seamless music streaming.
